The Wine Country lifestyle in California is one of relaxed living, great food and wonderful wine. About 250 world class wineries produce wine here in Sonoma County and fine gourmet restaurants, quality resorts and gourmet cooks abound. We hope to show you some of the foods, recipes and cookbooks available so that you too can enjoy the lifestyle of the area.
We are lucky to have a wide variety of locally grown food and wine products to chose from here. Most towns in our community hold Farmer's Markets at least once a week where you can buy fresh produce, cheese, fish and many other products. We have the freshest products. Dairy ranches and commercial fishing are within just a few miles drive from my home. The area is famous for locally produced cheeses, olive oil, honey, breads, jams and jellies. Olive Oil
Sonoma County is also known for producing and bottling olive oil. Both Sonoma and Napa Counties produce some of the best olive oils you'll ever taste, this being celebrated in a three month long Sonoma Valley Olive Festival www.olivefestival.com. During the festival which is held December thru February there are many events, dinners and theme parties taking place throughout the Wine Country.
